converting config file

I just did a new cvs install and found to my surprise that the config file was now in xml. I am able to read and parse this using vi, but it's hardly as easy as it used to be in plain english.

Also, normally I'd simply go through and tweak my old config file to the new settings (or modify the new one with my old settings), but that's been blown to hell by this xml config thing. Anyone know of an easy way to import your old settings into the new config file?

make your changes via the GUI, the File -> Save Preferences.
