View Full Version : Screen corruption

Hi, this isn't exactly SEQ related, but I'm hoping someone might have a suggestion to fix this.
I'm having trouble with my XWindow getting corrupted, ie. when using SEQ i'll get the map redrawn several times on screen but shifted like I was moving. Or my screen will freeze. I can move the mouse, but when I try to select something whatever was supposed to come up is sometimes ghosted (ie very light, and usually transparent).
I can usually clear this up by hitting ctrl-alt-f1 to get to a dumb terminal and then ctrl-alt-f7 to come back to my xwin terminal. However, this doesn't always work. I'm pretty sure I've had this happen when SEQ wasn't running, so I think its more of a problem with my system somehow.
Its becomming rather annoying.
FYI: RH7.2, p2-300 w/ 256m, voodoo 3000 video
Thanks.

Try bumping down the Resolution a knotch. also I think there are some tweaks for the Voodoo 3 series cards. Go to http://groups.google.com/ and search for Linux and Voodoo3 and see what you come up with.

Please submit a full bug report,
with preproccessed source if appropriate.

damnit, i thought someone had a suggestion :(
Tried reducing the resolution from 1024x768 to 800x600 no help.
Havn't had much luck with finding any tweaks for the voodoo card.
Might be my crappy monitor... 14" compudyne. Can't find any model info. Its pretty old but was cheap (as in free).
