I just pulled down the new cvs tree 2 nights ago 6/9/2002 and after compiling and running EQ i noticed a small droppage of fps. The last build I was running I had the fps set to 31 and it was working perfectly. Even though I now have the map set to 31 fps it does not seem to upadate faster than 2ish fps. I have tried various numbers between 1 and 60 and there doesn't seem to be a change in the fps when i do this. Is anyone else noticing this or did I screw something up somewhere else?

Yes, many people noticed this... Most of those people read the announcement boards, or used the funny button above, with the following symbols on it: "S-E-A-R-C-H".
You might want to try one of these advanced problem solving methods... In addition, when you need help on something, you might want to consider posting in the appropriate forum... I'll leave it as an excercise to the reader to discover which forum this is (a hint: it is the forum where most people post their HELP questions when they need HELP with their problems...)

First, dont be a jerk. I read the announcements and didnt see anything about it. Did I ask for help? No. I saw a problem and stated it. If i asked for help i would post in the help section. I was asking if anyone else was having the same problem. Now get off your high horse and learn how to read.

How perchance are you coming up with your 2 fps number? Are you guessing based on how spawns are moving or are you acutally viewing the maps debug info (enable the "Debug Info" item of the "Show" sub-menu of the maps right-click context-menu) that tells you the running average fps and repaint time? If you are geustimating, don't. If you are actually seeing the performance mentioned in the Debug Info, then (in the session you are seeing the issue) goto the "Debug" menu and select "Dump Map Info" and then attach the generated the /usr/local/share/showeq/mapinfo.txt file to a post. Also, include specs of your machine (processor, memory, swap size, video card, etc...).
If however you are basing it purely on sporadic spawn movement, then please make sure "Animate Spawns" is enabled in the "Show" sub-menu of the maps right-click context-menu (in which case you really should have used search first whether question or help request).
Enjoy,

Well, sure sounds like it to me, from this:

I'll check that out when I get home and post it in the Help section if so desired. Thanks for the links Jeeves and thanks for the stuff to look for Zaphod.
