ok so i installed Red Hat 7.2 last night did all my compiling everything is going great, execpt running ShowEQ im behind a Netgear RP114 Router and for some reason i cant get Linux to grab an ip from the router.. its still using the one that attbi is giving me.here is my error:



[root@dhcppc2 root]#export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt-2.3.2
[root@dhcppc2 root]#cd /usr/local/bin
[root@dhcppc2 bin]#./showeq eth0 --ip address=192.168.0.2

Invalid address: address=192.168.0.2


thats the error i get when i start show eq, now i can ping from my PC the Red Hat box, but i cant ping the Red Hat Box to the PC..

showeq eth0 --ip address=192.168.0.2


1) Follow the walkthrough, read carefully, double check before you post here
2) Have you even (and i mean EVER) seen a parameter with a space in it? Well, there isnt one here either.

ok.. look im sorry. if you didnt notice from my other posts im a newbie.. usually means ive never used linux before.


But you where right i forgot the "-" and i thank you for your help


now i got it running..
