On both my Gentoo Linux system (with QT 2.3.2) and on this RH 8.0 system (wuth QT 3.x.x), SEQ experiences the "racing" condition. Directional movement lines appear from off the map and cause the map to shrink, etc.
Anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like an outdated version of SEQ or libEQ.a to me...

Latest and greatest from CVS update...and it doesn't always happen....and also, sometimes, the mob locations (even their 'dots') will be in the wrong places and such.

Try enabling Session Tracking, Real Time Thread, the set the ARQ SEQ Give UP to something large like 512.
Of course it might be that you have other problems causing your system to just be too slow. Build qt without xft support, I have seen this be a tremendous CPU suck on lots of setups.
