Setup:
ppp0 configured for dial out to the internet using kppp in KDE
eth0 configured as 192.168.0.1 with no gateway and the DNS set to the numbers used by the dial up account
problems:
When I connect to the internet through the modem I can ping manual ip addresses, but anytime I try to do ping www.microsoft.com or what not it just hangs. I figured it was some sort of routing problem since if I disable the network card the internet works fine (minus the LAN link). So I tried route add default ppp0, and route del default eth0,and wabam it worked. But I have to manually do that every time I connect or reboot, is there some easier way to go about this?
Any help will be much appreciated.
