Hi folks:
I wanted to find out if I can install QT 3.0.5 or above on Red Hat 7.1. I'm running on an old Thinkpad 760XD laptop, and had to have a lot of help from a real Linux guru to get Red Hat installed in the first place. For some reason there were big issues with the PCMCIA slot and the network card as well as the sound chip, which required much expert tweaking to get to work. The native Red Hat hardware detection couldn't find an IRQ for the PCMCIA network card and never found the sound chip at all. In fact my laptop boots into DOS first, which loads some TSR to make the sound chip work before transferring control to the Red Hat 7.1 initialization sequence. Consequently, I'm reluctant to try to do an O/S upgrade on my own.
Advice appreciated.
