Not really SEQ related, but since everyone here loves to tinker with diffrent machines.
I've hit all the normal knowlege bases and bounced this off a few newgroups ... and some generics forums. No luck so far .
hardware
typical compaq 1600R unit (x2)
with smart array controllers
1 is a single proc and one is a dual proc.
both are configured for linux installs and have the latest bios
Everything works perfect with RH 7.2 (seems to with RH 7.3 as well).
However with Redhat 8.0 ... (and 9.0 now that ive tested it)
When trying to upgrade ... or format and fresh install.
CD installs, boot floppies, custom
It refuses to see or use any ps/2 bus mouse that i've placed on the machine. (tried a couple diffrent ones jsut to be sure)
Ive tried manual and auto selections for the config.. gonna see if i can dig up an older serial mouse and try that ... Starting to run outta ideas. Not to mentions places to look and ask.
Was curious if anyone might point me in another direction or seen something similar. Id really like to start getting these 2 machines upgraded so i can tinker around with SEQ on some new versions instead of using "bandaids" on everything i have on it now.
Thanks for the time and any ideas you guys might have.
*edit and side note*
Serial mouse has ZERO problems so far ... i think i'll just install it this way and then go back and see if i can find out WTH happens with the install.
