Still need help updating

I am out of hair to pull out. So I figured I would ask you guys. Please point out my stupid mistake(s):

Yes I had the previous version installed properly and my update script USED to work fine, and no its not a qt issue (unless 3.0.5 is bad which would not jive with whats on these forums) I use red hat 8.

Update script:

Looks like wrong libEQ download the lastest version (see front page of forum ) and delete all old copies then try again

Crap, I thought that was gotten from CVS. Are you saying I need to wipe everything and DL and re-install from scratch?

I don't want to whine too much - but why can't I just update it, why a fresh install every patch?

no, just download the correct libEQ.a and put it in /usr/lib then start over at ./configure

Also remove any old versions of libEQ.a you may have on the system.

downloaded latest libEQ.a.asdasdasdasda and renamed it to libEQ.a, running update script and look:

Give it a few minutes and try again. I got the same thing while trying to update the other day.

And be aware if you already have a libEQ.a file the new one you download will be given a name like libEQ.a.1 and you still be banging on the old one. Be sure to either rename the old libEQ.a file BEFORE you download the new one or delete it all together.
