Gentoo & Fluxbox. What apps did you emerge?

Well I'm the proud papa of a gentoo and fluxbox PII 300mhz pc. I did not emerge gnome or kde so I'm assuming I do not have a bunch of little extra apps.

My question to you is...

What apps did you emerge?

I assume there is a web browser (mozilla?) that I can still use with fluxbox.


Then I've got to figure out the syntax for adding these apps tot he text files that describe the menus. I'm actually looking forward to this. :)

I'm emergingi Mozilla right now, but I have a feeling it is one of the bloated apps.

What web broswer would you recommend for a fluxbox lowend PC?

Opera is small and fast while still having quite a few features. Have a look at it.

You also might want to try Phoenix. Faster than Mozilla (albeit based on Mozilla) and no annoying banners like Opera.

Wow, I'm checking out the Win32 build of Phoenix and it's very nice. Thanks for the heads-up, Raventhalos. Can't wait to check out the Linux build.
