I have ShowEQ working, but What I don't know is how the linux files and folders are organized! Im still a newbie! hehe! For some reason, linux have tonz of folders under the /root , that i don't know where to put programs, or where to put just regular files. Under the /root there is for example
/usr
/bin
/lib
/opt
/dev
etc. etc. etc.
I mean, there is no organization here. NOt like in windows, where The programs are stored in the Programs File folder. And most files and stuff like that are put in the My Documents folder.
Now I've been reading the post here too, and some of the people just say go create a folder called /seq and under that, download Show eq from cvs. and Compile from there.
So does this mean I can just go to /dev and create a folder for /seq.
cd /dev/seq
Please help! If there is another Site that explains the structure of the linux OS. please link it to me!
I can see why, Linux ain't so user friendly!
Now I have 2 versions of showEQ in my computer, and I don't know where they are, cause there is just no organization. DID a Search and there were 2 sprockets looking like icon of showEQ. though, everytime I run it, the old version pops up and it don't work. I think its time for a Full installation of LINUX!
