I had read some threads indicating that RH9 comes with QT version 3.1, but wasn't able to find anything official on it. Is that the case? I Just wanted to confirm that a blank install of RH9 should work with SEQ5.

Yes, RH9 comes with QT 3.1. It will compile out of the box, assuming you have all the necessary packages installed. Make sure you install the QT-devel package.

Been a while but i seem to remerber manually added the QT version needed off CD2.

Dont have it handy want to say it was Qt3.1 something in a RPM already thou.

Might save some compile time

for future note, you could have found your answer by going to redhat.com or by using rpmfind.net.

Or rpm -qa | grep qt will work a pinch. ;)

Actually, SEQ 5 works with Qt 3.1.1, so no real need to update from it. It is in fact the version I developed ShowEQ 5 with. Updating to it however is a good bet for those who have lower versions.

Enjoy,

Sorry my question was a bit ambiguous.

What I mean to say is .......... I have 3.1.1 installed on a Redhat 9 system.

Is there any advantage to installing a higher version like 3.2.3? ( think thats the latest.)

PS. Been using beta 5.1 since release on my system and its never failed once.

Great work Zaphod.

Opps, my bad. Sorry, I do not know of any advantages in updating to 3.2.3.

Changes for qt 3.1.1 (http://www.trolltech.com/developer/changes/changes-3.1.1.html)
Changes for qt 3.2.3 (http://www.trolltech.com/developer/changes/changes-3.2.3.html)
Changes for qt 3.3.0-b1 (http://www.trolltech.com/developer/changes/changes-3.3.0-b1.html)

This is all from Trolltech's website. It appears that 3.2.3 is the latest stable version, 3.3.0-b1 is obviously a beta. :)
