I use the two newest versions of the server and the client, but every time I hit go I get the errow Could not connect to the server. Unknown Error (0x273f). I cannot figure the IP out on the laptop, every time I type ipconfig i get the message, IP ConfigurationFatal Error

Cannot Read IP configuration.

When I do the telnet thing from the laptop to the pc with EQ on it I get a bunch of spam, but I cannot go from the pc to the laptop cus I cant figure out the IP :P Any ideas?

Yes EQ is running, yes I hit the go button, yes I loaded the map, yes I did all I could think of but no luck :(

Let me try to figure out your setup.

You have 2 computers (1 PC and 1 Laptop) and the PC is running the Server and EQ and the Laptop is running the Client, correct?

What OS versions are running on the 2 systems?

Since today is patch day it will take us some time to figure out the working offsets first so until then we can't do alot of testing.

K, we will work on the issue once we verify the offsets are working and you have the working offsets.

On the laptop running Win98, type the following from a DOS prompt:

winipcfg

That should give you the IP address on the 98 machine. Here's the MS article on winipcfg:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;141698&

However, the IP address of the Server pc is the more important. From your post, I assume that you are running the Server on the WinXP box which is also your EQ machine?

Have you tried just a simple ping from one machine to the other or can you not figure out the IP of the laptop at all?

Make sure when you are doing WinIPCFG you are select the correct NIC (ie. a modem could be selected by default) .

Can the latop surf the Internet? If so then you should be able to get the IP Address. If not yu TCP/IP stack is messed up and you will need to remove TCP/IP and then reinstall it.
