sorry to ask guys but its been a year or so.

I have a very old version of showeq. I would like ro remove it and do a fresh install. I have redhat 8. not really a lunix person..

Unless you have any custom tweaks that you need saved, you might be better off just blowing it away and starting fresh.

Trying to go through all of the patches to catch up will surely be a pain.

You need to delete your showeq path then read the FAQ. Try:

rm -rf /usr/local/share/showeq

Is it just 5.0.0.7 that got "make uninstall"?

Anyway.. can delete the folder too tho :)

Junk.... LOL I read the faq... please understand. I'll only ask for help on Linux things. :D And Junk... thanks for the comand line to remove the old showeq.. that kind of stuff I would not have found using the search..

SEQ install is documented if people (like me) use the search. :rolleyes:

I understood Junk's comment to mean "use this to delete your current stuff, then use the FAQ to install the newest". Though he didn't say it exactly in that way ;)

lol was reading the faq.. some how my gcc is version 2.98. anyway I gave up :rolleyes: trying to upgrade it and installed redhat WS.. it was 50% off.. anyway I hope that seq will work with WS..

I don't know what you are using your linux box for but if that's only to run ShowEQ then I recommend you blow everything off, install the latest RedHat or Mandrake distribution (Fedora for RH) and follow the FAQs. That should be pretty easy, especially since Fedora will install about everything you need.

Zealot of "fight for your knowledge" motto might beat me for giving you that advice but eh :)
