Anyone else get in?

Unlike previous expansion beta's where the EQLive version of SEQ would mostly work with minor changes, there doesnt' seem to be a single packet that SEQ thinks belongs to EQ. I'm not sure how to track down how to fix CRC32 errors.

If anyone has any suggestions with that, I may be able to get a set of beta structures going.

Also, has anyone been able to get maps generated based on the new zone format .eqg files (new as of Omens)?

And lastly, last time I looked the link was broken, but did someone have a converter to switch to and from SEQ maps to SoE maps? Or is that something that mapfiend has hidden now.

EQ:DoN (Dragons of Norath) is the newest expansion, announced on eqlive main page for a short time with a link to sign-up for beta.

The link worked, and I got an E-mail telling me how to download the beta patcher (which is the exact same patcher used in Omens). Running it downloaded new files for about 30 minutes, and I was able to log in and enter new zones. But I didn't see more than 10 people total spread out amung 3 or 4 zones that I was able to find. So I don't think many people got it.

If the link was supposed to be pushed out or not, I'm not sure. But it's gone now.

So I have a bunch of new .eqg files that I'd like to see turned into maps if someone's found a way to do it.

Got a question. Are all zones borked now for SEQ after the new patcher for you or is it just the new zones?

All. I zoned into PoK originally, and got nothing but CRC32 errors.

I'm very curious about the eqg file format as well. An updated EQ Zone Viewer would rock.

I had thought that the eqg thing was a compressed file they used. I'm almost positive that OoW beta had them too.

Test server also is full of the Bad CRC32 stuff now so if you are not in Beta and want to play, you can look at that.

There are a number of changes to basic structure coming so it's not surprising that they altered the data stream as well.

Not just beta, but all new zones (including revamped Lavastorm) uses the new format.

When is the next patch? I would like to save some packets before the changes go live. As you can tell I dont get to play very much any more.

The next patch of Live servers is tenatively scheduled for Jan 24th.
