With my limited Linux knowledge, I've managed to keep up with the cvs downloads, patching, compiling and all that stuff. Currently have SEQ up and running with no problems. Please keep this in mind when the flames begin :)

Now for the braindead questions of the day: Can anyone explain the difference between the .txt and .map formats for SEQ? Looking at the text in the terminal window leads me to believe that SEQ can go both ways as far as maps are concerned. Can I edit maps with the EQ map maker (in game) and them simply copy the .txt file to my .showeq/maps directory, or will I need to convert it to .map first. Also, assuming I can use the .txt file, will SEQ load .map or .txt files first (if I have .map and .txt map file for a particular zone).

/em puts on his asbestos undies and hopes for the best :)

What I do to move maps from in game to seq:
1) Make sure my in game looks like I want
2) Make the ZoneShortName_1.txt map available to my linux box (I have samba for this)
3) Edit ZoneShortName_1.txt to make sure the colors look good on black
4) Inside seq, do File->Open Map and find my ZoneShortName_1.txt
5) The map should show up in seq now. Make sure it looks good enough
6) File->Save Map
7) Look at the text in the console. It'll say where it saved the map, but it'll be ZoneShortName_1.map.
8) Go rename ZoneShortName_1.map to zoneshortname.map

That's what I do. Works ok for me *shrug*. I don't have to do it that often.

.txt are the Sony format, .map is the SEQ format for maps.
