Using CeleSEQ's Core 3 package, I'm not getting any response from the client. This is the terminal window output after specifying the IP address of the EQ client and zoning 3 times:

Info: Listening for IP client: 192.168.0.103
Debug: PCAP Filter Set: udp[0:2] > 1024 and udp[2:2] > 1024 and ether proto 0x0800 and host 192.168.0.103

=====

It was working fine on the last version, and I haven't changed anything else in my setup.

That to me looks like you have an old zoneopcodes.xml it is finding.

Yeah, that did it. For some reason, the package didn't extract the new xml files. I manually extracted them over the existing ones and it's working now. Thanks!

Hmm... i'll have to take a look at that to see if it's a packaging problem. What command did you use to install the new RPM? And where did you find your old copy of zoneopcodes.xml?

I'm having a similar problem. My connection looks like this..

Internet -> Cable Modem -> Router -> Hub (Win Box, Linux Box)

When I start ShowEQ, and go to Network Diagnostics, I see zone->client packets incrementing, and one or two client->zone packets, but that's it.

Am I missing something here? I've tried setting to monitor next client, and specifiying a client IP address, no change.

I looked into zoneopcodes.xml, and the latest updates are 6/13/06. Is this the latest version?

I've never ran SEQ before, so bear with me if I sound like i don't know what I'm talking about, because, I don't.

Terminal output may help. Just to make sure, there's no wireless involved also?

No wireless.

And eth0 is correct? Does tcpdump see EQ packets?

BarryB

Hmm. Interesting.

Yes eth0 is correct. No, I do not see any traffic originating from my win box (192.168.0.102).

My Linux box is 192.168.0.103, and my router internal i.p. is 192.168.0.1. The only traffic I see is 192.168.0.103 and .1

Maybe this Linksys 5 port hub is really a switch? It's labeled 'NETWORK HUB' all over it. Back to the drawing board. Thanks for you quick responses.

Linksys labelled "hubs" are almost always switches. You can still use the switch if you're willing to route the windows box through the linux box by using it as your gateway. Search around here and you'll find info about it. You will have to leave the linux box on, but that hopefully won't be a big deal.

Alternately, you can probably find a cheap netgear hub on ebay or something I'd imagine.

Thanks, I dug out an old noisy no-name 12 port hub from the pile of stuff in my garage. Once I got it all connected, everything came alive.

Maybe I can sell my Linksys on E-Bay..
