This isn;t really a showeq question as much as it is a Fedora question. As such, i tried looking for answers elsewhere first, but to no avail.
The issue:
The screensaver / Blanking in FEDORA 4 is making me insane. I have tried many 'recommended' ways of disabling this 'feature', but with no luck.
Anyone know the real way to disable the screensaver / screen blanking function in Gnome under FC4?

Maybe "xset s noblank" might work?

Is this a laptop? Perhaps there is some power saver features? A friend runs his on a FC3 laptop and he has a similar problem. Other than that, no clue. I gave up FC4 and moved to SuSE 10.1. I had way to many issues with FC4 on a variety of machines to be happy with it.

I don't know if this will work for your version or not, but try it anyway.
I start SHOWEQ using a text file with these commands before ShowEQ so the screen blanker stays off
xset s noblank
xset s off
xset -dpms
showeq
My screen never blanks after this until after a reboot....

I do something similar . in my shell script that I use to launce SEQ, I have the following:
xset -dpms s off
showeq
xset -dpms s on
That way, the screen saver functionality returns when I'm not using SEQ.
I'm using gentoo, but should still work for FC installs.
