ShowEQ and MySEQ are two completely seperate programs.
If you want to run MySEQ you need to run the server on the computer that is running EQ, and run the client on the Windows computer you want to view the information. After most patches the myseqserver.ini file has to be updated. The updates are are posted in the MySEQ section of the forums.
ShowEQ only consists of one program that runs in Linux. I have never used ShowEQ so thats pretty much the only thing I can tell you about that. :)

There are several problems here. As was stated ShowEQ and MySEQ are two different programs.
For ShowEQ to work, it must be on a true hub. If ShowEQ can not sniff the packets, it wont work. There are some recommended hubs if you use search.
There are some network settings you also have to make sure are correct. The last issue is that ShowEQ now requires you to zone once before it will work.
Most anything that could ever be asked has been asked and can be found with search.

thank you for your responses. very helpfull.
i will nolonger be running showeq and myseq on the same network. thank you
quick note...
Most anything that could ever be asked has been asked and can be found with search.if that were true then the forums would be closed :-)
theres allways room for new questions.
can someone point me toward the propper network settings for this to work?
i have my router plugged into a dell power connect 3024 network hub, i have also tried a netgear FS605 with the same results or lack there of. then out of hub to showeq box and eqbox.
do i need to forward ports?
is it a good idea to block outgoing ports from my showeq box?
i understand that if this was too easy then everyone would do it and that would bring the iron thumb of SONY down on us, but it seems to me the documentation leaves some things to the imagination.

You should check your documentation carefully on both these devices. I did a SIMPLE google search for you and found that they are both switches not hubs.

Well the questions you have asked have been answered many times before.
My suggestion for a hub is netgear DS104. They are not made anymore, but can be found on ebay.
Or you can run MySEQ and not worry about getting a hub.

MySEQ from here does work as far as I know. I saw the patch offsets posted from 11/13/07 and there really wasn't too many changes since then. I am not positive that it does function though since I do not run it.
There is another MySEQ at another website but that guy is a rip off and charges for the code that was taken from here originally.
