Make bombs out at this point...

Well, after hours of typing in commands I get ./configure to work and move on to make && make install and I get this problem:

/usr/bin/install: cannot create regular file `/usr/local/bin/showeq': Permission denied
make[2]: *** [install-binPROGRAMS] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/noobian/Desktop/showeq-5.12.6.0/src'
make[1]: *** [install-am] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/noobian/Desktop/showeq-5.12.6.0/src'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1


Can I please get a little help here? I know I'm supposed to be logged in as "root" but I don't seem to have that option in UBUNTU. I have the username I created and that is it. Thanks for any help.

I got it! Sorry about the post.

Now for my last question I hope. I've downloaded the maps, which directory do I put them in? I can't seem to find a map directory.

I keep my maps in the .showeq/maps folder in my home folder.

You can also put them in the /usr/local/share/showeq/maps folder.
