In the process of setting up a new computer, I've run across a compile/configuration issue that is beyond my ability to diagnose or solve. It's a Fedora 13 install that doesn't like:

I've tried a variety of things including downgrading automake and reinstalling make, autoconf, automake etc. Kind of lost at the moment, so hoping some knowledgeable soul will steer me in the right direction.
