Hey all... i would like any help with linux as I now have showeq working but can't try it out as my winxp machine doesn't have internet access from my 2nd nic card. I'm running redhat 7.2 and windows xp. I have in my linux box 2 3com 905b cards. both are recognized and the first eth0 is working fine on the internet as that is how i'm posting this. I would like to know how to setup second card and what to do in Winxp to get my linux on the net (currently is) and xp on the net
Thanks
Hawk
Revision 1: I finally got it to work... didn't do the last post, but I did read it and it's about what I had to do... man it's crazy and yes it can be done with one network card... I personally use 2 as I bought them years ago when this was the only way a friend knew how to do it...
Thanks for all who helped and posted (not just flamed)...

I even though the link is correct it's funny that you have linuxnewdie.org is that an open source porn site?
As for the help, try doing a search for networking and setting up IPChains. :)

any help, like
leave network card 1 alone, make ip of second x.x.x.x gateway x.x.x.x
and then do this to xp would be great. tried reading the manual but got mad dns info and a whole bunch of other stuff that i'm having the trouble making the mental connection.
Thanks

This isn't a general Linux help site. These questions can be answer Much more quickly if you posted at someplace like www.linuxnewbie.org (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi). you could even get your question answered faster if you search their site for 2 key words: "IPChains" -OR- "IPTables"

kernal 7.2 uses iptables not ipchains *note * if u do a full install (didnt read that full thread) but an error alot of people ahve is IPchains is enabled and so is iptables have to take out ipchains first user this command
/sbin/rmmod ipchains
also best ipmasq site I can think of in the world would be
here
http://www.e-infomax.com/ipmasq/
Personally I hate Iptables its a pos, and has issues if you want to change alot of your routing information and split it up between different net cards or modems. Or could be im just not used to it like ipchains
