I've searched and searched and can't seem to find ShowEQ. Maybe I just need some sleep, but can anyone post a link of the download?

btw, is www.hackersquest.org down?

Thanks for your help.

click on the cvs link upper right corner.....

probably better off using one of the walk thrus available on this forum, or on hackersquest whenever they come back up (if they are down)

perhaps this makes me a newb~ But what do I do with that stuff about CVS

cvs -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/seq login

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/seq co modulename

? I'm sorry, I'm usually pretty knowledgable, but I dont know what it means.

Thanks

Those are CVS command lines, cvs is a command... type those in and hit enter.

Ok, I just finished it today and thanks to all who posted and helped. It's not easy... but believe it or not getting SEQ is not the hard part... it's getting linux to act as a host for all your other pc's on the network. here's the best I can offer....

goto this page
http://seq.sourceforge.net/showthread.php?threadid=273

that post has ALL the info needed to GET SEQ if you have linux redhat 7.2 the ONLY thing wrong with it is the first part that asks you to get libEQ.a the path in the code doesn't exist... so search the net and find someone who posted it. Download it and pit in the dir that it would have gone if link is ok. after that download the seq.txt from the above link or type in all those commands from a terminal. It worked FINE for me. The install is important because all those codes draw from the packages you installed SO BE SURE TO INSTALL ALL he put in there.

That post does it all expcept the libEQ.a file.

Just follow what it says, get your windows machine on the internet through your linux box and you are all set.

once it's in and installed and you can get prog up and running you ahve to edit your showeq.conf file to tell it what network card and ip to watch for... after that it rocks. GL

One word of warning about getting libEQ.a, be very cautious of getting it somewhere on the net... like it says on the main forums page

The current md5sum of libEQ.a (31/Dec/01): 4e9d9772132fc63ea8860cc2fdb2905d
Use of any other libEQ.a is not recommended and could be a possible trojan.

Meaning if it doesn't match the checksum and you got it from an unknown source, it could steal your EQ password....

As noted in the README.libEQ file you downloaded with the CVS checkout there are trusted places to get the file. The addresses in that file do contain the proper libEQ.a ;)

Then again, as long as the md5 sum matches the correct sum, the file is should be ok.

I have been trying to get my site(s) onto the README.libEQ list for a while and still havent had any success.
