Hi all. I am having some issues with the latest release. It crashes everytime I zone. It either gives:

Warning: EQStr: Failed to open '/usr/local/share/showeq/eqstr_us.txt'

or simply closes. I have tried ver.29 band it does not crash on zone, doesn't work, but doesn't crash.

It configures and compiles without issue, so I am not sure what the next step should be.

Any ideas or clues would be appreciated, please.

Note that the above was done using the downloaded tar version since when I try to run the Makefile.dist command on the SVN version I get this:

Uploading a new tarball that includes playerProfile fixes. That might be what's trampling your memory. Not sure but worth a try. Be up in about 10 minutes. Have to compile again first...

I'm having crashes from memory corruption as well. I've tried the latest svn tarball, latest prod tarball, and checked out / compiled the latest svn source. Compiles and runs fine until a character enters the world and/or crosses a zone line. Posting the out put below. Would love to have this working again.

Did you apply Newby's patch? There was an error in playerProfile struct that I posted. That fixed crashes for me.
