Do i need to get a modem router and hub, or can i run showeq with a pc to pc connection?

The only way this will work if I'm thinking this out right is if you have your linux box set as the machine that has the modem hooked up to it and have NAT/IP routing services turned on. That way, the linux box gets the incoming packets from EQ servers first, then forwards them on to your EQ machine.

Personally, I have 5 computers on my home network and it's just easier to have a router/hub setup. All depends on whether you're looking for easy or cheap I guess.

check out the udpecho topics, winseq (i think) wrote a program to forward your eq upd packets to your linux box and accomplish exactly what you wish to do.

I'm trying to get it to work atm.
