I am using the guide:

HOWTO: ShowEQ on RedHat 7.2 Clean Install

Everything has went perfect up until the part where I need to download ShowEQ. The sequence and error message is:

[root@localhost root]# cvs -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/seq login
CVS password:
cvs login: authorization failed: server cvs.seq.sourceforge.net rejected access to /cvsroot/seq for user anonymous

I don't see where any password was mentioned in the guide... if I am doing this totally wrong please help.

the happy face should be a ":" and a "p"

you just hit enter for the password... i.e. blank pasword.

Yes, I have read that elsewhere and that is what I did. When the "CVS password:" comes up I leave it blank and press enter. Would you know of another way to do this? I was told that I should use a different method using the "export......" command (Which is, I believe, explained in the Idiot's guide) and I did try to do it that way, but to no avail.

I'm going to give it another try... perhaps I mispelled somewhere.
