I've noticed when SEQ has been running for multiple hours (Yes Im addicted to EQ) that if I close SEQ and open it again just before zoneing that my performance on SEQ increases. Anyone else notice this and if so is there someway to clear out all that data mabey durring zoneing.

Not sure but if SEQ when it detects a zone could just dump all cache just like when you first start seq that may speed things up and even save ram ;-)

It can't be ruled out that there are memory leaks in
the code. From the patch messages I read at
Trolltech, alot of the fixes upto 3.0.3 are memory
related. There are advantages and disadvantages to
all programming paradigms, and free software as
Linux in this case, is no different... :D

Most zone specific data in ShowEQ is cleared upon zoning. The only data of any consequence that doesn't get cleared on zone is the:
Channel Messages
Experience Window records
SpellShell/Spell List records
Combat window records

Do you have enough info in these windows that it would be an issue? Could you describe your ShowEQ system a bit (CPU, Memory, Distro)?

We could potentially provide a means of clearing the aforementioned data that isn't cleared upon zone, but with the caveat that all averages, as well as the individual records would dissappear.

Enjoy,

CPU is a PIII 550 with 192mb PC100 Ram on RH7.2

No other applications or source is loaded other then what is required by SEQ.

Distro Version -7.2 Enigma

Would upgradeing to 3.0.3 for QT help?
