    ITT im flying KAUS JCT V198 FST E38

    thats Austin Bergstrom internation airport, direct Junction VOR, Victor 198, Fort Stockton VOR, Direct Alpine Casparis Municipal airport. 330 miles each way. 10,500 ft on the way there, 9,500 ft on the way back.

    lake travis, or some nearby water at least.


    wow, theres nothing to look at west of austin.


    oh wait, there are oilfields.

    My dad used to have an airplane - a Cesna 172. He would take us up at least once a weak - do barrel rolls and what not. GOD how I miss those days.

    Gratz to you and your license - VERY cool. If I had the cash I would love to persue flying as a hobby for sure.

    Wave off at 10,500? Hehehe in a 182 I was happy to get 9,500 after a 25-30min climb to altitude.

    Wave off at 1,500? Heh, not and keep jumping at the couple of drop zones I frequented. Although on ocassion you could get away with a pull at that altitude, you just couldn't make a habit of it and continue to be allowed to jump at the DZ.

    Wave off normally was 3,500-4,000, pull was generally no lower than 2,500. When the altimaster II was beginning to enter the "red" area, which was a small hint.

    1500+ jumps, just not any in the last 4 years...
